Cheers there JP - like your good self, I'm planning on getting my 'greys' sorted out shortly, probably just in time for the summer season when you can't really wear them comfortably because of the heat -

Nope, sorry. I've tried all week on everything possible - two thirds of the disk are physically damaged. I got excited when a piece of software 'recovered' 71 files that appeared to be the right size but they contained no data, just a string of zeros 
I don't think a recovery company would have much luck either, even if it were worth paying the dosh.
The shots of Gadge and John would have been stunning so that's particularly gutting.
Still, the adage of never shooting with one camera/data card paid off - I have got some material and I would have been even more embarrassed had this been a 'proper' job the following day.
So, all microdrives have now been retired and replaced with a set of solid state cards (at a tenth of the price, how quickly things change these days!)

David did u create a disk image of the dodgy drive?
If so would it be ok to get hold of the image and see if I can pull out some pics?
Aye, I'll send you the CD and the original card if you like... The images are all in the RAW DCR format which complicates things as it doesn't write in a linear fashion as JPEG or TIFF. Anyhoo, no harm in you waving your magic over the data if you have the time.
i would like to get my geek hands over it lol - would be a great victory if we managed to grab a few more pics from the shoot.
the CD will be fine David(or u could upload via yousendit or similar) - please light a fire in the back garden and burn the card lol

i cant help with computer tec stuff, but i can help with destruction.
send me the card, ill chop it up with a diamond wheel, crush the bits under a vibrating plate, then crush it again under a roller, then incinerate the rest with a flamer
